Kel Tek P17 - A few months ago we published my first impression of the KelTec P17. My feelings are very warm, but it is more clear now. I recommend that you read this article before finishing this article.
My opinion on the ergonomics and features of the P17 is the same. The magazine release safety and slide locks are all well positioned. The slide release still doesn't allow you to put the gun down, but it's in a good place to lock it up (which I have to do a lot).

The grip is still good, not great, but not great. It can be a little slippery when shooting with wet hands, but it doesn't help to make your grip really impressive. The grip of the grip works well to make the gun easier to hold. Like shooting a Glock.
Preowned Kel Tec P17, Compact, . 22 Lr, 3.9″ Threaded Barrel, Polymer Frame, Tan Finish, Fiber Optic Front Sight, 16 Rounds, 2 Magazines: Sold
Touches are good triggers. Mine was about the same, about 3 pounds, but it was weak. I'm still shocked, but not the worst I can pull off (that was the Nagant Revolver, nothing worse).
The accessory track on the frame is almost useless. The only suitable light would be the TLR-7 Streamlight which I don't have. Both the TLR-1 and my X300U are too big to fit and lock. I have also seen reports of decreased reliability of guns when lights are installed due to the build of the guns.
So it brings a count of more than 2200 bullets and rounds. An additional 900 rounds were fired in 4 rounds, cleaning each gun. Although I have many problems.
Most of the failures are "feeding failures", meaning that the slide needs help to remove the magazine. They are easily edited by clicking on the back of the slide, but it still fails. With continued testing, I kept getting double feed, hoses, and hoses, regardless of the nuts.
Keltec Handguns & Pistols
During my last two trips, I shot 200 rounds of Winchester Super X 40 and 200 rounds of CCI Mini Mag 40. In 400 rounds fired, I found 35 misfires, and revised four jammed boxes, eight barrels, and six defects. That was 53 failures out of 400 rounds, resulting in a reliability rate of 74% for the gun. That is unacceptable to me.
When the gun misfired, it couldn't fire. The scenery is still high, but with decent low pressure, I feel confident about my visit.
I shot some "tests" with the P17, which were good scores and times. Basically, when the gun runs, it's a good shot. It's lightweight, fits most hands and is easy to use. It's a shame that loyalty is the way to go.
Is it better to shoot than a .22 rifle? No it isn't. However, it does not weigh 3 pounds and contains many nuts. The whole "performance" part just needs to be fixed.
One Gun Writer/instructor's Favorite Guns: Keltec P17– Bravo Concealment
I think the P17 sight is a good sight for a backpack gun. Lightweight, high volume, good ergos and fun to shoot. However, reliability is a big issue with the P17. If it works, I think I really like this gun. Well, it's not. There really is nothing I dislike more than a gun that doesn't work.
The amazing thing is that no other .22 pistol comes close to the P17. I am very interested in the Taurus TX22, but the full size is not as small as the P17. Maybe the new SIG P322 will be a P17, but it works. KelTec seems to have pulled a KelTec and ruined another great idea with mediocre build quality. I can't recommend the P17 until it's fixed, but I doubt KelTec will. I'm glad to conclude that this gun is a complete failure.

Like all gun enthusiasts, I was very disappointed with the release of Glock's .22. So, I was looking for something to fill that gap. The Kel-Tec P17 appeared on my radar as more positive reviews began. Needless to say I had to check it out for myself.
This device is surprisingly cheap. It costs less than $200, which is a drop in the bucket if you're into firearms. That doesn't mean the value you get from it. It may look ugly and cheap (and good), but it feels good to shoot.
I was able to read this magazine without any trouble. There were a few collisions here and there, but nothing major. This is a major concern of mine after seeing the price and disaster of the Glock 44, but I am happy to report that this is not a problem with the P17.
Pistolet Kel Tec P17 Kal. 22lr
Now I have to say that I don't like the look of the P17 at all. The sutures where the polymer material is placed are clear and painful. It just looks cheap. The good news is that its looks are the worst, everything else is up and down.
I think the size is perfect for a big guy like me. The pistol is easy to handle because of its small size. This makes it easier to shoot directly and more difficult to shoot a rifle. It should be a breeze to spray the hands of all sizes.
It is very light for a pound. The P17 has a low profile and an overall length of less than 7 inches, making it a solid concealer if you insist on holding a .22. I personally don't like to hold such a low standard.
To me, the P17 pistol is a good pistol that can be pulled from a safe and hit position. Trigger feels usable. There is no sticking or sticking here. The reload is pretty much the same as before. The magazine size is true to its name with 16 + 1 capacity.
